Senior Human Resources Business Partner

The Senior HR Business Partner is directly responsible for the overall strategy, administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function. They are responsible for creating and implementing strategies to support the mission and employee culture by emphasizing the personal touch and encouraging strong leadership and teamwork. The human resources director looks for creative and innovative process solutions to support efficiency and industry competitiveness through a dynamic HR contribution.

Essential Functions
  1. Participates in weekly meetings with respective business units, team counterparts, and direct reports.
  2. Annually reviews and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of the organization's policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters.
  3. Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organization's compliance.
  4. Responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of employee onboarding, retention and engagement initiatives to support the strategic mission.
  5. Responsible for working with department heads to assess relevant and dynamic employee training needs. To include the development, implementation, and oversight of training, growth, and development programs for all employment levels
  6. works with internally and with partner services on recruiting strategies and initiatives
  7. Maintains responsibility for organization compliance with federal, state and local legislation pertaining to all employee matters.
  8. Communicates changes in the organization's personnel policies and procedures and ensures that proper compliance is followed.
  9. Directly responsible for human resources budget
  10. Assists executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of the organization's wage and salary program.
  11. Coordinates or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  12. Oversight on RA programs and employee housing needs as relevant for effective operations and retention.
  13. Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by the COO or GM, on employee matters.
  14. Responsible for ensuring effective benefit administration, workers compensation, and unemployment benefit practices.
  15. Oversight ensuring up-to-date and accurate information entry in all relevant systems supporting payroll, benefits, workers compensation, and time keeping.
  16. Financial steward of the business and effective risk management for all areas of impact within the HR scope.
  17. Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on employee matters.
  18. Serves as a point of escalation for the HR team and the organization on critical employee matters and compliance.
  19. Recommends, evaluates and participates in staff development for the organization.
  20. Develops and maintains record retention practices. Looks for creative and innovative process solutions to support efficiency and industry competitiveness within the HR function and in support of the strategic mission.
  21. Supervises the staff of the human resource department.
  22. Will also support other properties and ventures based on ownership portfolio.
  23. Participates on committees and special projects and seeks additional responsibilities.
Travel
This position requires frequent in-state travel between corporate office in Denver and the Winter Park office. May include up to 15% travel out of state.

Required Education and Experience
  1. BA/BS within Business or related field
  2. Minimum of 5 to 7 years' experience in workforce development, organizational strategy implementation, and resolution of complex employee relations issues.
  3. Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including risk management, compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
